Employment by State
BEA produces a job count for each state and the District of Columbia, with industry breakdowns. These statistics are based primarily on data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics and the Internal Revenue Service; BEA uses additional source data and adjustments to produce employment data that align with BEA's other statistics.
State employment tables released annually show total full-time and part-time employment by industry, and wage and salary employment by industry.
Related state data by industry include earnings; compensation of employees; wages and salaries; and earnings by industry.
